Universal and Multicursal Mazes

A Universal Maze means that the maze is a 'single line' maze. All the corridors and areas are connected and is more of a labyrinth.
A Multicursal Maze is a maze which branches out with several paths which can end in dead ends.

Pac-Man, Tomb Raider 2 and Bomberman are some games with a universal maze.

The Stanley Parable, Pokemon, Legend of Grimrock, Wolfenstein, Legend of Zelda and Damned are some games with a multicursal maze.

I feel as though any games which would like to depict any internal struggles anyone would be feeling would put good use to the maze system. These could represent the insides of a person's mind, depending on how you want to show it. Mazes are fun too when your aim is to collect things and find clues etc inside a game. But there would have to be a proper purpose in games like that or mazes would be rather tedious for me.
